• What different place I'm in the last time I posted.

We are in the process of launching our household, Ravensflight. We've got all sorts of pomp and pageantry planned. We've both become much more active in the SCA, taking on offices, receiving awards, entering in contests...

I've since started and finished my Masters degeree in Education and am currently unemployed, but working some times substitute teacher. I teach math and history, but have subbed in almost everything BUT...

Perhaps the biggest change is that I'm getting married. Luke and I will marry next summer, things are on the verge of coming together for the (ridiculously huge) wedding we're having.

    Oh, and we're broke. Yea.

  • It sure missed me quick.

Gah. I don't know what to type. The tent is going pretty well. The stripes turned out a very nice blue.

I feel ridiculously over weight, and I'm not sure what to do about it because I have no self control.

Willamette Repatory Theater, the only professional theater in the town I live in is closing after nine years. I JUST got a foot in the door with them. Fortunately the artistic director will still be in town so hopefully I can still get jobs. *sigh* sad say.

I think I am finally emotionally ready to let go of SPA, the theater company I work for out at LCC. Between the politics, Matty (the exceedingly annoying former president) and the faculty's inability to let go of the power, I am ready to move on.

In other news I am playing Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest this spring, and I just found out that a show I am in, which has been put on hold do to cast members quitting, might be going up at the same time . SHIT .. I dont' know if I can memorize that many lines that fast.

Well. That is all. I suppose.

  • Hello Again

So apparently hey really want people to use their xangas more. I got another message saying 'xanga' misses you. So here I am.

So far I am working a lot on garb for the upcoming Egils I am nearly done with a yellow linen tunic (I just need to hem the sleeves and cuffs, and do some reinforcing on a few places) and i have the fabric for a navy blue (cotton.. ) one next. Though I'm not sure which pattern I want to use.

The tent making is going fairly well. everything is cut out (nearly) and Luke is starting to sew things together. Next we need to dye the strips that will be blue..

Other then SCA stuff I am working on music direction for the Willamette Rep production of Wild Oats. Which is going quite well, though I fell as if I'm in a bit over my head.

The LCC classes I'm taking are easy peasy, though I'll be taking two simultaneously next term so that might be a little more difficult. Right now it looks really good as far as me getting into the Master program at the U of O for Secondary Education.

So there, that's an update. Does anyone actually read this?

  • And things have changed again....

As per usual eh? Out of school. Waiting to hear about graduate school.

Ryan turned out to be a loser with poor hygene and creepy social skills.

I'm with Luke now, he's even older, lol (27). But he bought a house in March (right before he lost his job) and we live there. He's going back to school for accounting, and just finally got a new job (part time).

I am at Starbucks still, unfortunately, at the one on Pearl & Broadway. But I'm quitting when I start grad school. If I don't get in, I am quitting and finding a new job, hopefully at Allan Bros, where Sarah is Manager.

Luke has gotten me into the SCA, which I am totally loving, it's a Middle Ages reenactment group. I have been sewing a lot. Also doing a lot with theater. I am currently Stage Managing for the first time (and doing a damn fine job if I do say so myself). I am doing Music Direction with the Willamette Rep for a show called Wild Oats in March, and I have plans of starting to work with an new Theater company starting in June...ish.

I've been doing a lot of Role Playing. Dming my first D&D campaign (set in Dragonlance) and playing in Luke's Whitewolf Campaign, which he is integrating (all or most World of Darkness settings) and setting the whole thing in a WoD style Eugene.

OH! I am going to grad school for teaching. I want to teach middle school math now (or at least that is the plan). So I can have my nights available for community theater, and my summers available for OCF, SCA events and travel. At least that is the plan. Luke and I also have tentative plans to visit france in the not too distant future.

So that is where things stand now. If I wait as long to update here as I did last time, I will likely be a teacher by then.

    We'll see...
